Anaemia

 

Anaemia is a condition in which there is deficiency of haemoglobin in the red blood cells. There are different types of anemia but iron deficiency anaemia is the most common type. There are different causes of anemia and it may occur at any age. There is deficiency of iron in the haemoglobine of the red blood cells that causes iron deficiency anemia. Haemoglobin is a red coloured pigment that is present in the red blood cells and gives red colour to the blood. The main function of haemoglobin is to transport gases to all parts of the body. It is easy to treat anaemia naturally. One should increase the intake of iron rich foods in the diet to get rid of anamia. It is important to diagnose the condition early in life so that proper measures may be taken to get rid of iron deficiency symptoms.

Causes of anemia

  • The most important cause of anemia is the deficiency of iron in the diet. People who do not get proper iron in their diet may suffer from iron deficiency anemia.
  • It may also occur due to excessive loss of blood during an accident or surgery. In women, anemia may occur due to excessive loss of blood during menstruation or during delivery of the child.

  • Loss of sleep may occur due to pain in the extremities
  • Poor appetite
  • Colour of stool may change due to less haemoglobin formation

Home remedies for anemia

There are many useful home remedies that can help in iron deficiency treatment at home. It is safe to take home remedies. There are no side effects of taking home remedies regularly. Some effective home remedies are:

People suffering from iron deficiency anemia should increase the intake of iron rich food such as apple, carrots, spinach, etc.

Take one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and add one teaspoon of honey and lemon juice to it. Take this mixture everyday to get rid of signs of anemia quickly.

Pomegranate is a wonderful fruit and a rich source of iron. Eat one pomegranate everyday to get rid of anemia.

Beetroot is also a good home remedy for treating anemia. Eat raw beetroot in salads or drink one glass of beetroot juice everyday to get rid of anemia naturally.

Jaggery (gur) is a rich source of iron. Eat a small piece of jaggery after eating meals everyday to enhance the haemoglobin level in the blood.
